Summer Camp Counsellor
Power the day. Support instructors, spark the fun, and help every camper feel at home in the wild. $18.60/hour, full- or part-time.
Support camp operations at WILDE Adventure Summer Camp: hands-on experiential education in the Blue Mountains, focused on wilderness-integrated leadership development.
The season
- June 29 – August 21, 2026 (camp runs through all holidays)
- Monday–Friday, 8:15am–4:45pm (40 hours/week), plus some after-hours program prep
- Mandatory paid training: June 22–26, 9am–4pm
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- $18.60/hour
What you’ll do
- Lead hands-on experiences that connect campers to ecological systems
- Weave WILDE’s permacognitive principles into daily programming
- Support inquiry-led learning: questions, exploration, discovery
- Adapt activities to different learners and ages
- Foster an inclusive camp culture built on respect and collaboration
- Teach or assist with wilderness skills: navigation, fire-building, shelter and more
- Communicate with staff, leadership and families
What you bring
- Backcountry and adventure skills: camping, canoeing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing
- A genuine passion for outdoor and experiential learning
- Creative, energetic and personable, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with youth (preferred); camp or recreation experience an asset
- Reliable transportation
- High-school diploma (minimum)
- Standard First Aid & CPR certification (mandatory)
- Police Records Check: Vulnerable Sector (within the last 6 months)
