Summer Camp Instructor / Outdoor Educator
Lead the adventure. Plan and run outdoor-skills programming (canoeing, biking, bushcraft and more) for campers 4–17 across the Blue Mountains. $170–$180/day.
WILDE is looking for a multi-talented outdoor educator to instruct campers ages 4–17 in outdoor activities and wilderness skills across the Blue Mountains, and to help shape the programming itself.
The season
- June 29 – August 21, 2026
- Monday–Friday, 8:15am–4:45pm (40 hours/week)
- Mandatory paid training: June 22–26, 9am–4pm
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- $170–$180 per day
What you’ll do
- Plan and facilitate outdoor-skills programming around each week’s theme
- Lead groups of campers through the day’s adventures
- Keep continuous communication with the Camp Director
- Greet families at drop-off and build rapport
- Hold the safety bar high: policies followed, risks assessed, everyone accounted for
What you bring
- Backcountry and adventure skills: camping, canoeing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing
- A genuine passion for outdoor and experiential education
- Creative, energetic and engaging, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Organised, self-motivated and collaborative
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (mandatory)
- Police Records Check: Vulnerable Sector (within the last 6 months)
Nice to have
- A degree or diploma (completed or in progress) in outdoor education, environmental studies, natural science or recreation
- Two years of camp, outdoor education or natural heritage interpretation experience
- Experience instructing campers or students across age levels
- Backcountry guiding and tripping background
- Wilderness First Aid training
